The answers

• What are the letters after users' names?

R denotes a Registered user. U denotes an Unregistered user. V denotes a user with Voice.

• What are the letters after channel names?

R denotes a Registered channel which will not be deleted if the server is restarted. M denotes a Moderated channel. S denotes a channel which supports Subchannels.

• What is Voice?

Voice is permission to talk. In a Moderated channel only admins and voiced users may transmit.

• What is the benefit of Registering?

Registered users may be granted Auto-Voice. This allows them to receive voice status in moderated channels automatically. Unregistered users must be given voice rights every time they join the server.

• How do I Register with the server?

Open the Self menu and select Register With Server. You will be asked to choose a username and password. Next time you connect to the server you should join as a Registered user and provide the username and password you chose.

• What is a Moderated channel?

A Moderated channel shows M in its channel flags. Users in moderated channels may only transmit if they have Voice privileges.

• I was given Auto-Voice. Why don't I have Voice in the channel?

Auto-Voice is granted on a per-channel basis. You must join and be voiced in every channel you wish to use.
